Chef or waiter standing in front of coffee shop.The Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration is designed to give students a broad knowledge of the fundamentals of business operations. It prepares students for two alternatives: (1) to obtain technical knowledge and proficiency in basic business subjects leading to gainful employment, or (2) to transfer to a bachelor degree program granted at a four-year institution.

Upon completion of the program students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the business skills needed to gain employment among a variety of business enterprises.
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply the basic business functions of accounting, economics, finance, management, and marketing to become a successful business owner.
  • Obtain an Associate of Arts Degree that will meet requirements toward a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Associate of Applied Science

61 credit hours

The Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration is designed to provide a well-rounded selection of courses for orientation in business/industry. The student will obtain technical and general education skills necessary for qualified entrance into business, management, marketing, or accounting fields.

Upon completion of the degree students will be able to:

  • Understand the terms and arithmetic/problem skills involved in financial and managerial accounting.
  • Apply economic theories to real world and hypothetical situations.
  • Apply technical and general education skills necessary to qualify for entrance into business management and marketing fields.
  • Communicate with the business environment using verbal, written, and basic computer literacy skills.
  • Comprehend and apply business ethical and security principles.
