Leveraging Certification in a New Marketplace:
What is certification? Will it help me make more money? If so, how?
RachelWood

Rachel Wood has been a forester for over 25 years. Her passion is caring for the forest while integrating the objectives of landowners and the characteristics of the surrounding landscape and communities.

Having completed over 200 Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain-of-Custody audits throughout the United States, Rachel now brings that knowledge and expertise to New Mexico to create a chain-of-custody process for verification of sound forest restoration treatments to promote New Mexico wood and uplift forest industry through a program called Source Verified Good Wood™ <https://www.svgoodwood.com/>.

After seeing the devastation to forested landscapes after the 2011 Las Conchas Fire she felt the urgency of getting more forest restoration treatments completed which she has seen first-hand decrease the intensity and speed of wildfires.

Rachel is Society of American Foresters Certified Forester #2029.
