ENMU-Ruidoso inducted six students into the President’s Ambassador Club in a ceremony on Wednesday, Jan. 14.

The President’s Ambassador Club is a student leadership organization. The criteria to be considered is a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) or higher, be enrolled in at least six credit hours or more, be recommended by a faculty or staff member. The Club is coordinated through the External Affairs Office and the Ambassadors assist with recruiting activities and events on campus.

The Ambassadors serve at many college functions and attend special receptions/college recruiting events throughout the college district, where they can provide first-hand knowledge of life on campus as a student.

The students include Caitlin Byrd, Capitan; Cole Hanshew, Lubbock, Texas; Ella Hovrud, Carlsbad; Chyenne Marrufo, Las Cruces; Edith Morgan, Mescalero; and Robert Ruiz, Alto.

The benefits of being selected to the ENMU-Ruidoso President’s Ambassador Club include the opportunity to develop real-life skills and build connections at the college and in the community, which will help them with their resumes, as well as university and job applications, and help to prepare them for their future careers.

Upon completion of the Ambassador Program, the student will be given a letter of recommendation from the ENMU-Ruidoso President and a stipend for their service. Student Ambassadors are seen as exemplary leaders of their college and community. Student personal and academic growth will be fostered throughout the program.
