Dia de Los Muertos Well Attended
ENMU-Ruidoso hosted a Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) event Friday, Nov. 1, 2024 in the Learning Commons. Over 50 people attended, primarily families from a local home school group. The event included an educational presentation to provide historical and cultural context. The setting created a family-friendly environment that honored the holiday.
The event focused on educating children and parents about Dia de los Muertos traditions. Activities included an altar display (ofrenda) with an explanation; arts and crafts such as candle and picture frame decorating, and paper marigolds.
Music was provided by Tomas Vigil and food was provided by Dr. Munchies y Más.
The event received positive feedback, with many families appreciating the opportunity to learn through interactive experiences. The event was free and open to the public.
