Largest Graduating Class in ENMU-Ruidoso History

ENMU-Ruidoso Branch Community College will host the 21st Annual Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, May 7, at 6 p.m. at the Inn of the Mountain Gods in Mescalero, NM.

The event will feature four student speakers: Edith Morgan and Kaylyn Chino, both of Mescalero; and Jessi Dentler and Robert Ruiz, both of Ruidoso.

The four President’s Award Recipients will be recognized for Excellence in Teaching, Shelly Elfelt, Faculty Member and Science and Math Department Chair; Excellence in Adjunct Teaching, Hank Hargis, Director of Admissions and Part-time Instructor; Distinguished Service award, Gray Mowery, Director of Career and Technical Education; and Friend of the College award recipient, Harlan Vincent, New Mexico Representative of the 56th District, Lincoln and Otero counties, and an ENMU-Ruidoso alumni.

Three hundred and ninety-two students are candidates for graduation, the largest number of students to do so in ENMU-Ruidoso history. Twelve students will receive their diploma for the New Mexico High School Equivalency; 258 for Certificates of Completion in Child Development, Computer and Network Security, Construction Trades Core, Core Curriculum, Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Specialist, HVAC-Residential, Welding Technology, Wildland Fire Science and Wind Energy; 71 for the Certificate of Occupational Training in Culinary Fundamentals, Emergency Medical Technician, Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomy and Pre-Nursing; 16 for an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Business Administration, Information Systems Cybersecurity, Nursing (Roswell) and Wildland Fire Science; 46 for an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Education, Elementary/Special Education and General Studies; one for an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Natural Science; 10 students for a Bachelor’s degree from ENMU Portales in Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS); Business Administration (BA), Science and University Studies; and three students for a Master’s of Arts (MA) degree in Counseling and one student for a Master’s degree of Education (Med) for School Counseling.
