Aim High 2023

The 2023 ENMU-Ruidoso Foundation AIM High Sporting Clay Fundraiser hosted 390 firearm enthusiasts from across New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma for the largest attendance to date. The event is a collaboration between the Foundation Board, College leadership and staff along with community members and friends of the College to produce one of the premier Sporting Clay events in the state. The location at the Mescalero Hunting Lodge provides a scenic and challenging course unmatched in the region. Due to the quality of the course and of the participants, the first and second place teams were determined by a single clay. The winning team included the family of Jacob, Justin and Jesus Chavez with Jerry Rackley for a combined score of 347 of 400 possible points. Jacob Chavez also won the Youth High Average award hitting 92 of 100 clays. The second place team consisted of Liam Baggs, Dillion Lopez, Riley Smothers and Hayden Casson with a team score of 346 of 400. Texas and N.M. were represented in both top teams and are pictured with Rhonda Vincent, event developer and coordinator.

The talents and resources of Jerry Rackley, Creek Side Clays, and Tim Prather, Sandman Armory, along with numerous sponsors helped make the event possible. A banquet and dance to conclude the event was hosted at the Inn of the Mountain Gods where the Graham Brothers entertained guests between drawings and raffles. Funds from this event benefit a variety of programs and students at ENMU-Ruidoso.
