CybersSkills2Work Responds to the Call

CyberSkills2Work, established in 2020, is responding to the nation’s call for more cybersecurity measures. It is building a strong labor force to fight cyberthreats to organizations across critical infrastructure sectors, including finance. CyberSkills2Work equips transitioning military members, veterans, minorities, government personnel, women, military spouses, and first responders with necessary skills to combat today’s top cybersecurity threats. The program, a network of America’s leading cybersecurity universities and Fortune 500 companies, provides training, career development, and job placement support to its learners.

With in-person and virtual course options, CyberSkills2Work is one of the best free, online cybersecurity training programs in the USA. After completing the program, graduates receive certification and digital badges that document their earned credentials. They also are connected with employers and cybersecurity job opportunities to begin or advance their careers. CyberSkills2Work addresses an urgent demand to fill the cybersecurity workforce gap with skilled individuals who can help curtail cybercrimes.

Apply for the CAE Workforce Development Scholarship and receive up to one year of financial support while enrolled in ENMU-Ruidoso’s Computer and Network Security/Cybersecurity Certificate program.

The program focuses on recruiting, preparing and placing transitioning military and first responders into cybersecurity work roles in our nation’s Critical Infrastructure Sectors. By focusing on development of competencies and employable skills, connecting to employers, and managing the pipeline from student recruitment through job placement, our program offers an evidence-based turnkey solution that can be sustained and scaled nationwide in year three and beyond. The program provides flexible on-ramps, pathways and off-ramps for students of varying backgrounds through competency-focused verifiable credentials and certificates.

Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Specialist Pathway

About this Program

ENMU-Ruidoso CyberSkills2Work offers a one-year, intensive training program. It is designed to prepare students to work as a cyber defense infrastructure support specialist to meet current and future employer requirements. The learned requirements are based on the NICE Framework Work Role’s operate and maintain and protect and defend categories of cybersecurity job functions.

About this Pathway

The Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Specialist Pathway is designed to prepare participants for a system administrator work role where they can test, implement, deploy, maintain, and administer infrastructure hardware and software. They will also be able to set up and maintain a system or specific components of a system (for example, installing, configuring, and updating hardware and software; establishing and managing user accounts; overseeing or conducting backup and recovery tasks; implementing operational and technical security controls; and adhering to organizational security policies and procedures). Participants will also learn how to evaluate and implement security protocols and practices within their organization.

Eligibility

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be a veteran, transitioning service member, first responder, woman, military spouse, underrepresented minority, or government personnel.
  • Must have at least a high school diploma, GED® or equivalent. (School transcripts of the highest level of education completed are required).
  • Must have some IT or cybersecurity experience.
  • Must apply for admission to ENMU-Ruidoso’s Computer & Network – Security Certificate Program.
